The Honda City facelift has been spotted at a dealership ahead of its official launch in India on May 22, offering a clearer look at the design revisions and feature updates planned for the popular midsize sedan. The updated model marks the first major facelift for the fifth-generation City and is aimed at strengthening its position in a highly competitive segment.

Recent images from dealership stock units suggest that Honda has introduced a series of exterior styling changes to refresh the sedan’s appearance. The most noticeable update is at the front, where the Honda City facelift features redesigned LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights placed at the upper section of the cluster. These DRLs are connected by a slim light bar integrated into a revised grille design, giving the sedan a more modern and cohesive front-end identity.

The grille itself has been subtly reshaped to appear cleaner and more streamlined compared to the outgoing version. Honda has also revised the front bumper, which now carries a sportier design with sharper contours and a more aggressive stance. Interestingly, the test vehicle spotted at the dealership did not feature fog lamps, which may indicate either a variant-specific omission or a revised lighting strategy in the facelifted model lineup.

Along the side profile, the Honda City facelift continues to retain the familiar silhouette that has defined the model for years. The sedan’s proportions remain unchanged, preserving its long wheelbase, sloping roofline, and balanced stance that contribute to its premium appeal. While the overall body design remains largely consistent with the outgoing version, Honda appears to have focused on subtle enhancements rather than a complete redesign.

One of the key visual updates on the side is the introduction of new alloy wheels. The facelifted model is expected to feature newly designed black-finished alloy wheels, likely in the 16-inch size, adding a sportier and more contemporary touch to the exterior styling. These changes aim to modernise the car’s appearance while maintaining its understated elegance.

Although interior details are yet to be officially confirmed, the facelift is expected to bring minor updates to the cabin, potentially including improved features, updated infotainment options, and enhanced connectivity features to keep up with evolving customer expectations. However, Honda is likely to retain the core layout and ergonomics that the City is known for, focusing instead on refinement rather than a complete overhaul.

The Honda City has long been one of the strongest contenders in the premium sedan segment in India, competing with models like the Hyundai Verna and Skoda Slavia. With this facelift, Honda aims to keep the model relevant amid increasing competition from feature-rich rivals.
