2026 Tata Punch EV Facelift Launched With 12.3-Inch Screen, New Design and Revised Powertrain

Tata Motors officially launches the Punch EV facelift with design, feature, and powertrain upgrades.

Tata Motors on Friday is set to launch the facelifted version of its micro electric SUV, the Tata Punch EV, in the Indian market, aiming to strengthen its position in the entry-level EV segment. The update is expected to bring notable changes in design, features, and possibly the powertrain to make the model more competitive.

The launch event is currently underway, with Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Managing Director Shailesh Chandra outlining the company’s vision for expanding electric vehicle adoption in India. He highlighted that the overall passenger vehicle market under ₹12 lakh stands at around 30 lakh units, while entry-level EV penetration remains only about 1.6 per cent.

The Punch EV facelift is positioned as an accessible entry point for buyers looking to switch to electric mobility. With its compact footprint and SUV-inspired styling, the model is expected to appeal to urban consumers seeking an affordable electric vehicle with practical usability.

In terms of updates, the refreshed model is likely to receive interior enhancements, including a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. Reports also suggest the addition of a redesigned steering wheel featuring an illuminated logo, giving the cabin a more premium feel.

The automaker may also introduce revisions to the electric powertrain, potentially including a bigger battery pack to improve driving range. However, these upgrades could result in a price increase compared to the outgoing version of the Punch EV.

Once launched, the facelifted Punch EV will directly compete with the Citroen eC3 in the Indian market, as Tata Motors looks to further cement its dominance in the affordable electric vehicle space.
