2026 Renault Kwid Launched In India, Priced At Rs 4.53 Lakh
Renault launches updated Kwid in India at entry-level pricing.
Renault has launched the 2026 Kwid in India at a starting price of Rs 4.53 lakh (ex-showroom), updating its entry-level hatchback with minor design and feature enhancements. The refreshed model is now offered in two trims—Evolution and Climber—with both manual and AMT gearbox options, while continuing to target budget car buyers in the highly competitive small hatchback segment.
With the latest update, Renault has simplified the Kwid lineup by discontinuing the earlier Authentic and Techno variants. The new pricing structure makes the Evolution and Climber trims relatively more affordable by up to Rs 14,000 and Rs 32,000 respectively compared to their earlier versions, despite the base price seeing a marginal increase of Rs 22,000. Additionally, the company is offering a factory-approved retrofitted CNG kit for manual variants at an extra cost of Rs 70,450, catering to cost-conscious buyers.
On the exterior, the 2026 Kwid receives subtle cosmetic updates including 3D Renault badging, revised dual-tone wheel covers for the 14-inch steel wheels, and refreshed “Kwid” lettering on the tailgate finished in silver. The overall design remains largely unchanged, retaining features such as LED daytime running lights, halogen headlamps and familiar front and rear bumper styling.

Inside the cabin, updates are minimal but include a new three-spoke steering wheel borrowed from the Renault Kiger, featuring integrated controls for infotainment functions. The hatchback continues to offer an 8-inch touchscreen system with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital instrument cluster, manual air conditioning and power windows, maintaining its focus on essential features in the entry-level segment.
Safety equipment varies by variant, with dual airbags offered in the Evolution trim and up to six airbags in the Climber variant. Additional features include a rear parking camera with sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill start assist in AMT models, ABS with EBD and seatbelt reminders. Mechanically, the Kwid retains its 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine producing 69 hp and 92.5 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT. It continues to compete with rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 in India’s entry-level hatchback market.
