Ola Electric Cuts Roadster X+ 9.1 Price To Rs 1.29 Lakh After Gigafactory Cost Efficiencies
Ola Electric cuts the Roadster X+ 9.1 price by Rs 60,000 to Rs 1.29 lakh, citing Gigafactory efficiencies.
Ola Electric has announced a major price reduction for its flagship electric motorcycle, the Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh, slashing ₹60,000 off the previous ex-showroom price. The model, which previously cost ₹1,89,999, will now be available at ₹1,29,999, making it more accessible to buyers while retaining its position as a high-performance electric two-wheeler. Ola attributes the price cut to improved production efficiencies at its Gigafactory and deeper vertical integration of its 4680 Bharat Cell battery operations.
The Roadster X+ 9.1 offers a claimed range of up to 501 km per charge, with the cost of electricity for a full charge estimated at just ₹46, translating to an impressive running cost of ₹0.09 per km. In comparison, the petrol-powered Bajaj Platina 110 has a running cost of approximately ₹1.35 per km, factoring in fuel prices at ₹94.77 per litre and claimed mileage of 70 kmpl. While the upfront cost of the Roadster X+ 9.1 is higher, the everyday running expenses are significantly lower, and factoring in maintenance could widen this gap even further in favor of the electric motorcycle.
Alongside the price reduction, Ola has shifted the Roadster X+ 9.1 to a limited purchase window model, with sales now occurring in time-bound slots due to high demand exceeding current production capacity. The first purchase window opens on April 3 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with future slots to be announced periodically. This controlled approach is intended to manage demand efficiently while ensuring customers can secure the bike without stock shortages.

An Ola Electric spokesperson highlighted that the company’s Gigafactory expansion and scale-up of the 4680 Bharat Cell battery production have unlocked significant cost efficiencies, which are now being passed directly to customers. The spokesperson added that demand for the Roadster has grown more than five times during the company’s #EndICEAge campaign, reflecting rising consumer interest in long-range electric mobility.
The company is also accelerating battery cell capacity expansion toward 6 GWh, reinforcing its efforts to strengthen domestic battery manufacturing and scale production. With this strategic combination of lower pricing, long-range capability, and a controlled availability model, the Roadster X+ 9.1 is poised to offer consumers a compelling electric alternative while challenging conventional petrol motorcycles like the Bajaj Platina in both running costs and long-term value.
