Mercedes-AMG's New Electric GT 4-Door Puts the Driver Back in Complete Control
Mercedes-AMG unveils a cockpit-inspired, triple-screen interior for its upcoming electric GT saloon.
Mercedes-AMG has revealed the interior of the next-generation Mercedes‑AMG GT 4‑Door Coupé, offering the first official look at the cabin of its upcoming electric performance saloon. The model represents a major shift for the GT 4-door nameplate as it transitions from traditional combustion engines to a dedicated electric vehicle platform. Despite this change in powertrain technology, Mercedes-AMG has retained a driver-focused design philosophy, ensuring the cockpit maintains the performance-orientated character long associated with the brand.
The cabin features a cockpit-inspired layout where the dashboard, centre console, and digital displays are all angled toward the driver. This arrangement reinforces the brand’s focus on performance driving by keeping key controls within easy reach. Instead of adopting a single large screen stretching across the dashboard—seen in some other modern Mercedes electric models—the GT 4-Door employs a triple-screen setup that separates key functions into dedicated displays.
At the centre of the dashboard sits a 14-inch touchscreen positioned at a slight angle for easier driver interaction. This is complemented by a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster directly behind the steering wheel and an optional 14-inch display for the front passenger. All three screens run on Mercedes‑Benz MB.OS, the brand’s next-generation operating system that includes AMG-specific graphics, telemetry data, and various performance-focused driving modes tailored for the electric performance model.

Mercedes-AMG has also retained several physical controls to enhance usability during spirited driving. The centre console includes three prominent rotary dials with textured edges, allowing drivers to adjust motor responsiveness, cornering dynamics, and the nine-stage traction control system. Each dial features LED lighting that changes colour based on the selected setting, offering instant visual feedback and maintaining the tactile engagement many performance enthusiasts prefer over fully touch-based controls.
Rear-seat flexibility is another highlight of the new cabin layout. The standard configuration offers two individual rear seats designed for a more premium experience, while buyers can optionally choose a three-passenger rear bench. Rear passengers benefit from recessed footwells that improve comfort despite the coupe’s low-slung roofline, making the car more practical for longer journeys without compromising its sporty silhouette.
Additional luxury features enhance the overall premium feel of the interior. These include a panoramic glass roof equipped with Sky Control technology, ambient lighting throughout the cabin, and a high-end Burmester audio system. The steering wheel also adopts tactile switchgear rather than touch-sensitive pads, with two circular controllers featuring integrated LCD displays that allow quick adjustments to drive modes and chassis settings. Paddle shifters remain behind the wheel as well, repurposed in the electric setup to control regenerative braking levels and activate a temporary performance boost mode.
