BMW F 450 GS Price Increased In India By Up To Rs 30,000

BMW Motorrad has increased the prices of its F 450 GS adventure motorcycle in India by up to Rs 30,000, around five months after its launch in the country. The price revision applies across all three variants of the motorcycle. The entry-level F 450 GS is BMW Motorrad’s smallest adventure motorcycle in the Indian market and is manufactured locally for both domestic sales and exports.

The Base variant, which was launched at Rs 4.70 lakh (ex-showroom), now costs Rs 4.95 lakh, representing an increase of Rs 25,000. The Exclusive variant has also received a Rs 25,000 hike, taking its price from Rs 4.90 lakh to Rs 5.15 lakh. The top-spec GS Trophy variant has seen the biggest increase of Rs 30,000, with its price rising from Rs 5.30 lakh to Rs 5.60 lakh, with all prices being ex-showroom.

The F 450 GS is manufactured exclusively in India at BMW’s plant in Chennai and exported to several international markets, including countries in Europe. The motorcycle is also positioned for riders in the A2 licence category in those markets. The price adjustment comes amid higher input and production costs, while demand for sub-500cc adventure motorcycles has also been increasing in India and overseas markets.

There are no mechanical or equipment changes accompanying the latest price revision. The motorcycle continues to use a 420cc parallel-twin engine producing 48hp and 43Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. It gets Rain, Road and Enduro riding modes, which adjust parameters such as throttle response, traction control and ABS intervention according to riding conditions.

The F 450 GS uses a steel tube frame with the engine serving as a stressed member, along with a steel tube sub-frame. Suspension duties are handled by 43mm upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock, while disc brakes are fitted at both ends with ABS Pro. Other equipment includes ride-by-wire, an anti-hopping clutch, Dynamic Traction Control and Dynamic Engine Brake Control. A 6.5-inch colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, heated grips and a USB Type-C port are also part of the package.

The Base and Exclusive variants are available in Cosmic Black, while the GS Trophy is offered in Racing Blue with additional styling and equipment elements. The latter gets white hand protection, a tinted Rallye windscreen, white chassis accents and an aluminium engine guard. The latest hike places the F 450 GS at a higher price point in India’s mid-capacity adventure motorcycle segment, amid broader cost pressures affecting BMW’s products in the country.
