The Redmi Note 15 SE 5G launches April 2 exclusively on Flipkart in India.
The Redmi is all set to launch the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G in India on April 2, marking it as a special edition of the standard Redmi Note 15 5G. The phone will be available for purchase via Flipkart in three colourways: Carbon Black, Crimson Reserve, and Frosted White. One of the shades, Crimson Reserve, is a rebranded version of the China-exclusive New Year Cherry Red Edition. Apart from the fresh colour options, the handset will feature a larger battery compared to the standard model. The phone’s launch details suggest it will be available shortly after unveiling. Xiaomi has not yet confirmed whether the launch will be a soft launch or a dedicated event streamed online.
Pricing details for the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G in India have not been officially announced. However, it is expected to be similar or slightly higher than the standard Redmi Note 15 5G, which starts at ₹22,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The 256GB storage configuration of the standard model is priced at ₹24,999. The SE 5G is expected to retain the premium pricing strategy while offering minor upgrades. Early leaks suggest that consumers may pay a small premium for new colours and an enhanced battery. Exact pricing will be revealed at the launch event. Xiaomi enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting confirmation of the official price.
In terms of design, the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G mirrors the standard model, with a gold-coloured frame and central Redmi branding on the rear panel. It features a squircle-shaped dual rear camera module with an LED flash. The Crimson Reserve variant comes with a vegan leather back, making it slightly thicker at 7.82mm compared to the standard 7.35mm. The handset has power and volume buttons on the right, leaving the left side clean. Its display is expected to match the 6.77-inch AMOLED screen of the standard model, offering up to 120Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of 3,200 nits, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. The design emphasizes both aesthetics and durability.

Performance-wise, the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 octa-core chipset, with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Xiaomi claims the phone will deliver 48 months of lag-free performance with a 10% GPU boost and 30% CPU boost over its predecessor, the Redmi Note 14. It runs on Xiaomi’s Android 16-based HyperOS 3, promising a smooth and updated software experience. These performance enhancements aim to attract both gamers and multitasking users. The chipset and OS combination ensures stability and future-proofing for everyday smartphone usage.
The camera setup on the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G differs from the standard model. It carries a dual rear camera unit led by a 50-megapixel MasterPixel primary sensor capable of recording 4K videos. This contrasts with the standard Redmi Note 15 5G, which has a 108-megapixel main camera paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor. The dual-camera setup in the SE variant is optimized for balanced photography and video recording. Xiaomi is positioning it as a capable camera for casual users while keeping the SE edition more compact and efficient.
Battery capacity has been upgraded in the SE 5G model, with a 5,800mAh cell supporting 45W wired fast charging. This offers over 44 hours of usage on a single charge, compared to the 5,520mAh battery in the standard Redmi Note 15 5G. The larger battery ensures longer usage without compromising on speed of recharge. With the fast-charging support, users can quickly get back to full power during busy days. The SE model thus provides a balance between enhanced battery life and efficient charging capabilities for daily use.
