Lenovo is preparing to re-enter the gaming smartphone segment with its upcoming device, the Lenovo Legion Y70 (2026), which is expected to launch in China later this month. The company has already begun teasing key specifications and design details ahead of the official debut. This new model marks the continuation of Lenovo’s Legion series, which is known for targeting mobile gaming enthusiasts with high-performance hardware and advanced cooling solutions.
According to details shared by the company on Weibo, the Lenovo Legion Y70 (2026) will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship-grade processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. Built on a 3nm process, the chipset is expected to deliver significant improvements in performance and energy efficiency. To support sustained gaming performance, the device will also feature an advanced vapour chamber cooling system designed to reduce overheating and performance throttling during heavy use.
The cooling setup is reported to include a 5,500 sq mm heat dissipation area along with a combination of 12W liquid metal thermal conductivity and high thermal gel materials. Lenovo is also integrating gaming-focused connectivity enhancements such as a dedicated gaming antenna positioned on the right side of the device. In addition, AI-based signal optimisation and automatic network switching are expected to ensure stable connectivity during online gameplay.

One of the standout features of the upcoming smartphone is its massive 8,000mAh “Star Ring” battery. The company claims this battery can deliver up to two full days of usage on a single charge, positioning it among the highest-capacity batteries in a gaming smartphone. Alongside this, Lenovo has confirmed a 2K resolution flat display that is designed to consume less power than traditional 1.5K panels, thanks to AI-driven power optimisation.
In terms of design, the Legion Y70 (2026) will feature a triple rear camera setup housed in a square module with an LED flash, while the front will include a hole-punch display for the selfie camera. With a combination of high-end processing power, large battery capacity, and gaming-centric hardware enhancements, the device is being positioned as a strong contender in the competitive mobile gaming market ahead of its official launch.
