The event follows the global unveiling at MWC 2026 in Barcelona on February 28, where Xiaomi showcased the series with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipsets, Leica-tuned triple 50MP camera systems, and features like a 6.3-inch 120Hz OLED display on the base model. India-specific variants include the 12GB + 512GB Xiaomi 17 and 16GB + 512GB Xiaomi 17 Ultra, with a vivid colour option exclusive to the market and a photography kit for the Ultra. Expected pricing starts around ₹75,000, positioning it against rivals like Samsung Galaxy S26 and OnePlus 14.

The Xiaomi Pad 8, launching alongside, debuts both standard and Pro models in India—unlike last year's China-exclusive Pro—featuring larger displays and HyperOS 3 on Android 16. This mid-range tablet targets productivity users with potential stylus support and improved battery life over the Pad 7.
