WhatsApp is reportedly developing a new feature for its Android app to enhance user experience by introducing advanced filters for media and stickers, according to feature tracker WABetaInfo. Currently in testing with the WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.25.31.10, the update offers a redesigned interface on the chat info page, enabling users to efficiently navigate shared content. This feature aims to simplify the process of locating specific photos, videos, documents, links, and stickers within conversations.
The revamped Media, Links, and Documents section now includes dedicated filter chips for Photos, Videos, Documents, Links, and a new Stickers option. These filters replace traditional tabs, offering more precise control over content discovery. The addition of a Stickers filter is particularly notable, allowing users to quickly search and retrieve stickers shared in chats, a functionality designed to save time and enhance usability.
Available exclusively to beta testers enrolled in the Google Play Beta programme, the feature is still under development and may not be immediately accessible to all users, even with the latest beta update. WABetaInfo notes that WhatsApp typically employs a phased rollout, with broader testing expected in the coming weeks. This update reflects WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to refine its platform and cater to user demands for streamlined content management.
