Vivo X300 Ultra Sets a New Camera Benchmark With Zeiss Optics and 200MP Dual Sensors

Vivo X300 Ultra leaks reveal Zeiss cameras and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 before the March 30 launch.

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is gearing up to launch its flagship Vivo X300 Ultra later this month, with fresh leaks revealing significant camera upgrades and performance details. The handset is expected to debut on March 30 alongside the Vivo X300s in China, expanding the company’s premium X-series lineup.

Ahead of its official unveiling, the Vivo X300 Ultra has surfaced on Geekbench, offering insights into its internal hardware. The listing suggests the device will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with 16GB of RAM, and will run on Android 16. In benchmark tests, the smartphone reportedly scored 3,722 in single-core performance and 11,621 in multi-core tests, indicating flagship-level capabilities.

The biggest highlight of the upcoming device, however, appears to be its advanced camera system. Vivo is said to be positioning the X300 Ultra as a hybrid between a professional camera and a compact everyday device. The phone is expected to feature a “3+2” camera setup developed in collaboration with Zeiss, incorporating advanced optics and imaging technologies.

Reports suggest the device will include a 200-megapixel primary sensor, likely the Sony Lytia 901, designed to enhance detail, dynamic range, and overall image consistency. The setup is also expected to include a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with improved stabilisation and significantly higher light intake—claimed to be up to 300 percent more than previous models. An ultrawide camera using a Sony Lytia 818 sensor is also anticipated, further strengthening its photography capabilities.

In addition to hardware improvements, Vivo is reportedly introducing upgraded imaging technologies such as its third-generation VCS bionic spectrum system, low-noise processing, and HDR enhancements. The camera system is also expected to feature Zeiss T coating to reduce reflections and improve clarity, along with advanced teleconverter options that extend focal length up to 400mm for enhanced zoom performance.

The Vivo X300 Ultra is also tipped to see a price increase, likely due to rising component and storage costs. Early estimates suggest a starting price of around CNY 7,500 (approximately ₹1,01,000) for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. However, final pricing and full specifications will be confirmed at the official launch event.

With these upgrades, the Vivo X300 Ultra is shaping up to be a strong contender in the premium smartphone segment, particularly for users focused on high-end photography and performance.
