Vivo G5i, G5z Launched With Massive 7,200mAh Battery
Vivo launches G5i, G5z phones with 7,200mAh battery in China.
Vivo has launched the Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z smartphones in China with a large 7,200mAh battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and support for 44W wired fast charging. The two smartphones share identical hardware, design and memory configurations and differ only in branding. Both models are currently available in a single Obsidian Black colour option.
The Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z are offered in two storage configurations. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at CNY 2,199, roughly Rs 30,900, while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model costs CNY 2,899, approximately Rs 40,700. Both smartphones are available for purchase through Vivo’s online store in China.
Both smartphones feature a 6.75-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1,570 x 720 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The display also supports a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz and offers a 19.6:9 aspect ratio. The devices are powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor paired with an Adreno 613 GPU.

The Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z come with up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. They run OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 and include Vivo’s Blue Heart Little V assistant with voice, suggestion and scanning features. For photography, both models carry a single 50-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.
Both smartphones pack a 7,200mAh typical battery and support 44W wired fast charging, along with OTG reverse charging. Connectivity options include 5G, dual nano-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, USB Type-C and an infrared remote control. The devices also feature stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and facial recognition for security.
The Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z carry IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance and have received a five-star certification for drop and shock resistance. The phones use a plastic middle frame and composite back panel, measure 8.39mm in thickness and weigh 219 grams. Vivo has not announced whether the two models will be launched outside China.
