Samsung launches AI-powered Galaxy Book 5 Edge 5G with Snapdragon X chipset Up to 27-Hour Battery Life

Samsung has quietly unveiled its latest AI-powered laptop, the Galaxy Book 5 Edge 5G, in select global markets. The premium notebook, part of Samsung’s growing Galaxy Book lineup, is the direct successor to the Galaxy Book 4 Edge launched in late 2024. The model combines next-generation processing power with enhanced AI capabilities and seamless Windows integration powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X platform.

The Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Edge 5G is listed on the company’s UK website with a price tag of GBP 949 (approximately Rs. 1,10,900). The device ships in a single configuration featuring 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of eUFS storage, available in a Sapphire Blue color finish. Early buyers in the UK can now order it directly through Samsung’s official site, while availability in other regions is expected soon.

This AI PC features a 15.6-inch full-HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) anti-glare IPS display and a lightweight body, measuring 356.6 x 229.8 x 15.5 mm and weighing just 1.66 kg. The laptop is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon X chipset (X1-26-100) clocked at up to 3.0GHz, paired with an Adreno GPU and a Hexagon NPU capable of up to 45 TOPS (trillion operations per second) for efficient AI performance. Samsung claims that these AI enhancements enable smoother multitasking and real-time intelligent features.

The Galaxy Book 5 Edge 5G is a certified Copilot+ PC, integrating Microsoft’s AI ecosystem with features like Cocreator and Windows Studio Effects. It also supports Live Captions for accessibility. The laptop includes a 2-megapixel webcam, dual 1.5W stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and dual-array microphones designed for clear conferencing and streaming experiences.

Connectivity options are comprehensive, including dual USB 4.0 Type-C ports, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, an HDMI 2.1 port with support for 4K output at 60Hz, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Wireless connections include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and sub-6GHz 5G. The device houses a 61.5Wh battery, promising up to 27 hours of runtime on a single charge and support for 65W USB Type-C fast charging. With its blend of AI computing, portability, and powerful performance, the Galaxy Book 5 Edge 5G positions itself as one of Samsung’s most advanced laptops yet.
