Redmi Confirms K100 Pro Design, Custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series Chip
Custom Snapdragon chip powers Redmi's upcoming flagship.
Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has revealed new details about the upcoming Redmi K100 Pro ahead of its official launch in China on August 11. The smartphone will debut alongside the Redmi K100 Pro Max and is confirmed to feature a custom version of Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The company has also showcased the phone's design and teased several hardware features aimed at delivering flagship-level gaming and performance.
According to Redmi, the K100 Pro will be powered by a custom octa-core "Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series" processor bearing the model number SM8850-1-AB. The company claims the handset scored more than 40,95,000 points on the AnTuTu V11 benchmarking platform during internal testing. In addition to the flagship processor, the smartphone will include a dedicated AI gaming graphics chip and Redmi's proprietary "Raging Engine", which is designed to optimise system performance and gaming efficiency.
To improve thermal performance, Redmi has confirmed that the K100 Pro will feature a 3D circulating cold pump cooling system to minimise overheating and performance throttling during demanding workloads. The smartphone will also sport a 6.59-inch display capable of delivering what the company describes as an "enhanced 4K experience" with a refresh rate of up to 185Hz. Ahead of the launch, the device has already been listed for pre-orders through Xiaomi's online store in China.

The company has also revealed the handset's design, showing a flat rear panel with a rectangular camera module positioned in the upper-left corner. The module houses a triple rear camera setup alongside an LED flash, while the camera island carries "Sound by Bose" branding. The power button and volume keys are located on the right edge of the device. Redmi has confirmed at least two colour options for the K100 Pro, including a green "Firefly" finish and a white variant.
The Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max are scheduled to be unveiled in China on August 11. While Redmi has disclosed several key specifications and design elements, details regarding pricing, global availability and additional hardware specifications are expected to be announced during the launch event. The K100 series is positioned as the successor to last year's Redmi K90 lineup and is expected to compete in the premium smartphone segment with a strong focus on performance, gaming and advanced display technology.
