Oppo Find X9, Find X9 Pro, and Oppo Pad 5 Launch Today: Price, Specs, and Key Details

Oppo unveils its Find X9 flagship series and Pad 5 tablet today, powered by Dimensity chips and ColorOS 16.

Oppo officially launched its flagship Find X9 series smartphones and the new Pad 5 tablet in China today, marking a significant push into the premium Android device market. The event, held amid growing competition from rivals like Samsung and Xiaomi, highlights Oppo's focus on advanced AI integration and high-performance hardware. Powered by MediaTek's latest Dimensity chipsets, the devices run on the newly unveiled ColorOS 16, based on Android 16, which introduces enhanced AI features and a smoother user interface. This launch follows Oppo's 2024 Developer Conference, where ColorOS 16 was previewed, and comes as the company aims to rebound from supply chain challenges that impacted its previous flagships.

The Oppo Find X9 and Find X9 Pro cater to photography enthusiasts and power users with redesigned camera modules featuring a distinctive deco aesthetic. The base Find X9 sports a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, while the Pro model upgrades to a 6.78-inch flat OLED panel. Both are equipped with the Dimensity 9500 SoC, paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, and include a dedicated AI button for quick access to intelligent tools. Camera setups stand out: the Pro boasts a triple rear array with a 50MP Sony LYT-828 main sensor, a 50MP Samsung JN5 ultrawide, and a 200MP Samsung HP5 periscope telephoto offering 3x optical zoom. The standard model features a 50MP Sony LYT-808 main lens, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP periscope lens, all supported by a 50MP front camera. Battery capacities are generous at 7,000 mAh for the Find X9 and 7,500 mAh for the Pro, with 80 W wired and 50 W wireless charging.

Pricing for the Find X9 series remains competitive in China, starting at approximately CNY 5,000 (around Rs. 58,000 or $700) for the base 12GB+256GB variant, escalating to CNY 7,500 (Rs. 87,000) for the top Pro configuration. Colour

Options include Chasing Light Red, Velvet Titanium, Frosty White, and Fog Black for the Find X9, with the Pro swapping Fog Black for a brown shade. Configurations span 12GB+256GB up to 16GB+1TB. In India, where a launch is anticipated later this year, prices are expected to begin at Rs. 65,000 for the Find X9 and under Rs. 100,000 for the Pro. The series' emphasis on on-device AI processing and privacy aligns with market trends, where AI smartphone sales have surged 20% year-over-year, per industry reports.

Complementing the smartphones, the Oppo Pad 5 targets productivity users with a 12.1-inch 3K LCD display at 144 Hz, powered by the Dimensity 9400+ chipset. It offers up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, an 8MP rear camera, and a 10,300mAh battery with 67W fast charging. Available in Galaxy Silver, Space Grey, and two Soft Light editions in silver and purple, the tablet's configurations include 8 GB + 128 GB to 16 GB + 512 GB, with pricing yet to be disclosed but rumoured to be around CNY 3,000 (Rs. 35,000). Unlike the China-centric smartphone debut, the Pad 5 launches globally today, underscoring Oppo's strategy to bolster its tablet ecosystem amid intensifying competition. Pre-orders for the Find X9 series are live in China, with global availability eyed for late October.
