Meta Smart Glasses Launch in India With AI Integration, 12MP Camera and Up to 36-Hour Battery Life

Both glasses support Meta AI voice commands, the Hindi language and UPI Lite payments.

The Oakley Meta Vanguard and Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 smart glasses are now available for purchase in India through major e-commerce platforms Amazon and Flipkart. Developed by Meta Platforms in partnership with Oakley and EssilorLuxottica, the new AI-powered eyewear lineup brings hands-free controls, built-in cameras, and voice assistant capabilities tailored for Indian users, including Hindi language support and UPI Lite voice payments.

The Oakley Meta Vanguard is positioned as a performance-focused smart eyewear option aimed at athletes and outdoor users. It features a lightweight 66-gram wraparound frame with IP67 dust and water resistance and Oakley’s Prizm lens technology for enhanced visual clarity. The glasses include a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view and support video recording up to 3K at 30fps. Audio is delivered through open-ear speakers supported by a five-microphone system for clear voice capture. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E, with 32GB onboard storage. The device offers up to nine hours of battery life, extendable to 36 hours with the charging case, and also supports voice integration with compatible devices from Garmin.

The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2, meanwhile, focuses on everyday lifestyle use while retaining the brand’s classic design appeal. It comes with a 12MP camera capable of capturing photos at 3,024 × 4,032 resolution and recording video up to 3K at 30fps. The glasses feature improved open-ear speakers, an upgraded five-microphone array, and hands-free voice control through “Hey Meta AI.” Battery life is rated at up to eight hours, which can extend to 48 hours with the bundled charging case. The model is offered in popular styles such as Wayfarer, Headliner, and Skyler, along with new seasonal colour options.

In India, the Oakley Meta Vanguard starts at Rs. 52,300, while the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 begins at Rs. 39,900. With Meta AI integration, Hindi support, and voice-enabled payments, Meta’s latest smart glasses mark a significant push into the AI wearables segment in the Indian market.
