Lenovo is preparing to expand its gaming smartphone lineup with the upcoming launch of the Lenovo Legion Y70 (2026), which has now surfaced on the Geekbench benchmarking platform ahead of its official debut in China. The listing offers an early look at the device’s expected hardware specifications and performance capabilities. The smartphone has already been teased by the company through promotional material highlighting its gaming-focused features, including advanced cooling technology and a high-performance Snapdragon chipset designed for intensive mobile gaming.

According to the Geekbench database, the handset appeared with the model number Motorola XT2611-1, suggesting it may carry Motorola branding in some markets while launching under the Lenovo Legion series in China. Reports indicate that the same device was recently spotted on China’s 3C certification platform, further confirming its association with the Lenovo Legion Y70 (2026). The listing has generated interest among smartphone enthusiasts due to Lenovo’s return to the competitive gaming smartphone segment after a relatively quiet period.

The benchmark details reveal that the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, one of the company’s latest flagship mobile chipsets. The octa-core processor reportedly features two high-performance cores clocked at 3.80GHz and six additional cores running at 3.32GHz. The chipset is expected to deliver premium-level gaming performance and improved power efficiency. The listing also shows the device running Android 16, indicating that Lenovo plans to offer the latest software experience with the upcoming model.

The company stated that the device will include a vapour chamber cooling system aimed at preventing overheating and reducing performance throttling during extended gaming sessions. Additionally, the smartphone is expected to feature a dedicated gaming antenna to improve network stability and lower latency while playing online multiplayer titles. The inclusion of an 8,000mAh battery has also been confirmed, with Lenovo claiming it can deliver up to two days of usage on a single charge.

The re-entry of Lenovo into the gaming smartphone category comes at a time when competition in the premium Android segment is intensifying. Brands are increasingly focusing on thermal management, battery life, and gaming-specific optimisations to attract performance-orientated users. While Lenovo has yet to announce an official launch date or pricing details for the Legion Y70 (2026), the latest benchmark appearance suggests the device could be introduced in China in the coming weeks, with further specifications expected to emerge ahead of launch.
