iPhone 18 Pro Launch Date, Expected Specs and India Price Revealed
iPhone 18 Pro launch details, expected specs and India pricing revealed.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at its September event, with the Pro models reportedly taking centre stage alongside the company’s first foldable iPhone. The standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and a second-generation iPhone Air are expected to arrive later, potentially in spring 2027. The upcoming Pro models are rumoured to bring improvements across performance, battery life, cameras and display technology. Apple has not yet officially confirmed the specifications, pricing or launch details beyond its scheduled event.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to retain 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays respectively, along with aluminium frames and the large rear camera module seen on recent Pro models. Leaked information suggests the camera bump could become slightly thicker, while the phones themselves may also be marginally thicker to accommodate larger batteries and an upgraded cooling system. Apple is also reportedly working on a smaller Dynamic Island, although it remains unclear whether the change will arrive with this generation. Newer LTPO+ display technology could further improve power efficiency.
Camera upgrades are expected to be another major focus of the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Apple is reportedly testing a variable-aperture main camera that could allow the lens to adjust the amount of light entering the sensor, potentially improving photography in different lighting conditions. The phones may also receive a larger-aperture telephoto lens and a new stacked image sensor designed to improve dynamic range and reduce image noise. The Pro Max could reportedly offer 6x optical zoom, while the smaller Pro model may retain 5x zoom. Both models are expected to continue with three 48-megapixel rear cameras and an 18-megapixel front camera.

Performance could see a significant upgrade through the expected A20 Pro chip. Reports suggest Apple could use TSMC’s 2nm manufacturing process for the processor, potentially improving both performance and energy efficiency compared with the previous generation. The company is also rumoured to be exploring a new multi-chip packaging approach that could place memory closer to the processor, potentially improving performance while saving internal space. More RAM is also expected, although the final configuration remains unclear. Apple’s next-generation C2 modem is additionally tipped to arrive with the Pro models, potentially bringing improvements to connectivity and satellite-related capabilities.
Battery life could be another important improvement, particularly on the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Reports indicate that the US version of the Pro Max could feature a battery with a capacity of around 5,567mAh, compared with roughly 5,088mAh reportedly used in the previous Pro Max. The combination of a larger battery and a more efficient processor could result in longer usage between charges. However, actual battery performance will depend on Apple's final hardware, software optimisation and regional configurations.
Pricing is expected to increase if Apple passes higher component and manufacturing costs on to customers. In India, the iPhone 18 Pro is reportedly expected to start at around ₹1,39,900, while some configurations could reach approximately ₹1,44,900. The iPhone 18 Pro Max could reportedly begin between ₹1,54,900 and ₹1,59,900. Apple is expected to announce the devices at its September 9 event, with the launch event scheduled for 10:30 pm IST. Pre-orders could begin later in the week, followed by availability around September 18, although these dates and prices remain subject to Apple's official announcement.
