iPhone 18 Pro Could Cost Rs 20,000 More: 5 Upgrades to Expect
iPhone 18 Pro may cost more with five key upgrades.
Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro could carry a substantially higher price than the iPhone 17 Pro, according to early industry reports and leaks. If Apple follows its usual launch schedule, the next-generation Pro models could be introduced in the second week of September. However, the company has not confirmed the launch date, pricing or specifications.
Reports suggest the iPhone 18 Pro could cost around ₹20,000 more in India than its predecessor, which starts at ₹1,34,900. This would place the new model’s possible starting price near ₹1,54,900. A price increase of between $200 and $300 has also been predicted for the United States, although final prices could vary across storage configurations and markets.
The anticipated increase has been linked to higher manufacturing expenses, including rising memory and RAM prices. Apple’s rumoured A20 Pro processor could also be more expensive to produce because it is expected to use TSMC’s advanced 2-nanometre process. The new chip may deliver faster performance and improved power efficiency, while a possible vapour-chamber cooling system could strengthen thermal management during gaming, video editing and artificial-intelligence workloads.

Apple could also introduce a variable-aperture system for the main 48-megapixel Fusion camera. This would allow the camera to adjust the amount of light entering the lens, potentially improving image quality across different lighting conditions and giving users greater control over depth of field. Reports further indicate that the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max could receive larger batteries, with certain Pro Max versions tipped to exceed 5,400mAh.
The Pro models are expected to retain their respective 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screen sizes while adopting more efficient LTPO+ OLED panels. Apple may also reduce the size of the Dynamic Island by moving some Face ID components beneath the display. Although major changes to the overall design are considered unlikely, these refinements could provide more usable screen space and improve energy efficiency.
Another expected upgrade is Apple’s C2 modem, which could enhance 5G connectivity, signal strength and battery performance. A new N2 connectivity chip is also rumoured to improve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, while some reports point to possible satellite-based 5G support. All reported specifications and prices remain unconfirmed, meaning Apple’s official announcement will be required to determine whether the upgrades justify any increase in cost.
