CJP’s Instagram Account Briefly Taken Down On Independence Day, Later Restored
CJP’s Instagram account briefly disappeared before being restored.
The official Instagram account of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) was briefly taken down on Saturday morning before being restored later in the day. The outfit alleged that the action was an attempt to silence its voice on Independence Day, though no independent information has been provided on the reason for the account's temporary removal.
The CJP, which recently led a students' protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, confirmed that it had regained access to its official Instagram account. In a post after the restoration, the organisation accused those opposing it of attempting to suppress its activities on Independence Day and maintained that it would continue its campaigns.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke also reacted to the temporary removal of the account. He said the party's official Instagram handle had been taken down and criticised those he believed were responsible. The account was subsequently restored, according to the organisation, bringing the temporary disruption to an end.

The development comes as the CJP has been conducting campaigns focused on education and youth-related issues. Its recent activities have included outreach programmes highlighting conditions in government and village schools, along with protests concerning students, education and alleged irregularities in competitive examinations.
Ahead of Independence Day, the organisation had also launched a campaign urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address young people in his Independence Day speech. It raised concerns around unemployment, education and other issues affecting the country's youth, seeking to place these matters prominently on the national agenda.
The CJP has organised a series of protests and campaigns in recent months around student and education-related concerns, with Dipke emerging as a prominent face of the organisation. The reason for the temporary Instagram takedown remains unclear, while the CJP has characterised the incident as an attempt to restrict its voice.
