100 MILLION GALAXIES!! Samsung Aims For Record Galaxy A Sales in India
The announcement came from Aditya Babbar, Vice President of Samsung India’s Mobile Experience division, during a launch event on Monday.
Samsung is setting its sights on exceeding 100 million unit sales for its Galaxy A series in India this year, bolstered by the introduction of two new models—the Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36—each offered in three variants. The announcement came from Aditya Babbar, Vice President of Samsung India’s Mobile Experience division, during a launch event on Monday.
Babbar revealed that the new A-series smartphones will be manufactured in India, aligning with the company’s local production strategy. “According to Counterpoint Research, we currently have 89 million satisfied A-series users. Our goal is to push past 100 million devices this year,” he stated.
The latest additions, Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36, target the competitive mid-range market, where Samsung dominated the Rs 25,000-35,000 and Rs 35,000-50,000 price segments last year, per Counterpoint Research. Babbar expressed confidence in maintaining this leadership with the new releases.
The Galaxy A56 comes in three variants, priced between Rs 41,999 and Rs 44,999 after discounts, with the top-tier model boasting 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A36 variants range from Rs 32,999 to Rs 35,999. Both models are notably slim at 7.4 mm and introduce advanced features, including artificial intelligence enhancements, marking a first for their respective segments, according to Babbar.
Equipped with triple-camera setups featuring a 50-megapixel primary lens, the Galaxy A56 5G and Galaxy A36 5G also offer IP67 dust and water resistance. The A56 5G is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1580 chipset, while the A36 5G runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Mobile Platform.
With these launches, Samsung aims to strengthen its foothold in India’s bustling smartphone market, blending innovation with affordability to reach its ambitious sales target.
