Vivo S2 Dummy Units Leak, Revealing Design and Specifications Ahead of Launch

Vivo S2 dummy units leak, revealing design ahead of launch.

Vivo's upcoming Vivo S2 has reportedly surfaced in a fresh leak ahead of its expected India launch, revealing its design and several key specifications. Although Vivo has not officially confirmed the handset, leaked dummy units suggest the smartphone could mark the return of the company's S series to the Indian market after nearly six years. According to reports, the Vivo S2 is expected to launch on August 6, with sales likely to begin on August 11.

Images shared by tipster PassionateGeekz on X show the alleged Vivo S2 in black and rose gold colour options, differing from earlier reports that suggested Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze and Silk White variants. The leaked dummy units indicate the phone will feature a matte-finish rear panel with a horizontally aligned, pill-shaped camera module. The setup houses two camera sensors on the left, while a circular element, believed to be a light ring, is positioned on the right. The images also suggest the device could use a polycarbonate frame and rear panel.

On the front, the Vivo S2 is expected to feature a curved display with a centrally positioned hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. The latest leak claims the handset will sport a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smoother visuals for gaming and multimedia. Powering the smartphone could be the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 chipset, indicating a possible shift from earlier reports that had suggested Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.

For photography, the latest leak points to a dual rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. This differs from previous rumours, which claimed the device would feature a triple-camera system, including a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens alongside the primary and ultra-wide sensors. Vivo has not commented on the conflicting reports, leaving the final hardware configuration unconfirmed.

According to reports, the Vivo S2 will be available in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB RAM and storage variants in India. Earlier leaked retail listing images suggested demo units priced at Rs. 38,000 and Rs. 42,000, while another listing indicated the 8GB + 128GB variant could carry a price tag of Rs. 43,000. These prices remain unofficial and may differ when the smartphone is launched.

While the latest leaks provide a clearer picture of the Vivo S2's possible design and specifications, Vivo has yet to officially announce the device or confirm its launch timeline. Until the company unveils the handset, details regarding its chipset, camera system, colour options, pricing and availability should be treated as rumours. More information is expected to emerge in the days leading up to the anticipated August launch.
