Hot Wheels Drops 2026 F1 Concept Car with Swappable Tyres

The new collectible mirrors next-generation Formula 1 design and offers fans a highly customizable racing experience.

Hot Wheels, in partnership with Mattel and Formula 1, has launched the 2026 F1 Concept Car, a premium die-cast collectible that bridges toy innovation with high-stakes motorsport. Building on a 2024 multi-year deal that introduced team-branded cars for young fans and adult enthusiasts, this model previews the radical 2026 F1 regulations. Available from February 10, 2026, it scales down real-world racing tech into a 1:64 masterpiece, perfect for display cases or track play.

Striking Black-and-Neon Livery

The car's body dazzles in a high-contrast black base accented by vibrant neon flames—a nod to Hot Wheels' iconic motifs. These flames lick across the engine cover, sidepods, chassis, and rear wing, evoking speed and energy. The design subtly honors the brand's heritage while aligning with F1's futuristic aesthetic, making it visually pop under LED lights or in natural settings.

Customizable Pirelli Tires

A standout feature: three interchangeable Pirelli tire sets in authentic race colors—red (soft compound), yellow (medium), and white (hard)—mimicking F1's slick strategy. Each set snaps on effortlessly, with realistic tread patterns and sidewall markings. An included F1-logoed rack stores spares, turning display into an interactive pit-stop simulation. This level of detail rivals adult collector lines like Greenlight or AUTOart.

2026 F1 Regulation-Inspired Engineering

Mirroring confirmed 2026 FIA rules, the model sports a shorter wheelbase (reduced by ~30cm from current cars for agile corners), slimmer nose cone, and lower, wider stance for better downforce. Active aerodynamics hints appear in adjustable front/rear wings, while a simplified halo and ground-effect floor capture efficiency-focused changes aimed at sustainable racing. Die-cast metal chassis ensures durability, with rubber tires gripping Hot Wheels tracks seamlessly.

Heritage Nod with Number 68

The "68" on the nose celebrates Hot Wheels' 1968 debut year, blending nostalgia with forward-looking design. At around 3 inches long, it weighs a satisfying 50-60g, featuring opening doors, detailed cockpit (with tiny steering wheel and seatbelts), and chassis engravings like sponsor logos and suspension linkages.

Priced at $5-10 (premium variants higher), it's a gateway for kids into F1's engineering wonders and a must-have for collectors tracking regulatory evolutions. Early buzz on social media hails it as "the coolest Hot Wheels F1 yet."
