Telangana Man Shot Dead In Philadelphia After Being Lured to Fake Pizza Delivery Location

Telangana man Anshul Kuncha shot dead in Philadelphia after responding to a fake pizza order.

A 28-year-old Indian national from Telangana was shot dead while working as a part-time pizza delivery executive in Philadelphia, United States, in an incident that his family believes may have been linked to a fake delivery request. The victim, identified as Anshul Kuncha, had been living in the US for nearly four years and was employed with a multinational company. To supplement his income, he reportedly worked part-time on weekends delivering pizzas.

According to information shared by family members, Anshul received a delivery order on Saturday night and proceeded to the designated location. Upon reaching the site, which was reportedly a deserted area, he was allegedly confronted by unidentified assailants. Reports indicate that he was shot multiple times before the attackers fled the scene. Authorities have not yet publicly disclosed a motive for the killing, and an investigation is underway.

Family members have raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the attack, noting that none of Anshul's belongings were reported stolen. They said this has led them to believe that robbery may not have been the primary motive. Reports cited by the family suggested that two masked individuals carrying backpacks were seen in the vicinity around the time of the shooting, though investigators have yet to confirm their involvement.

Anshul's sister, Tanvi, alleged that the delivery order was deliberately placed to lure her brother to an isolated location. She described the incident as a trap and appealed for justice, urging authorities to identify and punish those responsible. The family has also requested that Anshul's body be returned to India as quickly as possible so that his last rites can be performed without delay. Officials reportedly informed the family that the body could be released in the coming days.

The family revealed that Anshul had previously been the victim of a robbery while living in the United States, during which personal belongings, including his phone, cash, and jewelry, were stolen. However, they said he had never before encountered a life-threatening situation. The tragic incident has deeply affected relatives and friends in Telangana, particularly in his hometown of Gundlapochampally, where residents have been mourning his death.

The Consulate General of India in New York expressed condolences over Anshul's death and confirmed that it is in contact with local authorities and the bereaved family. The consulate stated that it is extending all possible assistance during this difficult period. The killing has also sparked concern among members of the Indian and Telugu communities in the United States, with many calling for a thorough investigation and swift action against those responsible for the crime.
