Sony WH-1000XM6 Launches In India With New Sandstone Finish At ₹39,990

Sony has expanded its WH-1000XM6 wireless headphone lineup in India with the introduction of a new Sandstone colour variant. The latest finish joins the existing Black, Platinum Silver, Midnight Blue, and Sand Pink options, offering consumers a broader range of design choices while retaining the same flagship audio performance and features.

The company confirmed that the Sandstone variant of the WH-1000XM6 is priced at ₹39,990 in India. Sony first launched the WH-1000XM6 in the country in September 2025, initially introducing Black, Platinum Silver, and Midnight Blue colour options. A Sand Pink variant was added in February this year, making Sandstone the fifth colour in the lineup.

According to Sony, the new variant does not include any changes to hardware or audio performance. It continues to feature 30mm drivers in a closed-back over-ear design, along with support for Hi-Res Wireless Audio via LDAC and Sony’s DSEE Extreme technology, which enhances compressed audio files in real time for improved clarity and detail.

Noise cancellation remains powered by Sony’s HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3, supported by a 12-microphone system designed to optimise ambient sound reduction. The headphones also include features such as Adaptive NC Optimiser, Ambient Sound Mode, Auto Ambient Sound control, and Quick Attention mode for situational awareness without removing the headset.

On the connectivity front, the WH-1000XM6 supports Bluetooth 5.3 along with multiple audio codecs including SBC, AAC, LDAC, and LC3. The headphones also offer multipoint connectivity for seamless switching between devices and include support for 360 Reality Audio Upmix for Cinema, enhancing spatial audio experiences for compatible content.

Sony has also integrated a MEMS microphone system to improve voice clarity during calls. In addition to wireless functionality, the headphones support wired playback via a 3.5mm audio cable. The device is available through Sony Centre stores, leading e-commerce platforms, and select retail outlets across India.
