Sony Launches 1000X The Collexion Headphones With DSEE Ultimate AI, 24-Hour Battery Life

Sony launches the 1000X. The Collexion headphones with DSEE Ultimate AI have a 24-hour battery life.

Sony has launched the new Sony 1000X The Collexion headphones celebrate the 10-year anniversary of its popular 1000X audio series. The premium wireless headphones combine advanced active noise cancellation technology with upgraded audio hardware, premium materials, and artificial intelligence-based sound enhancement features. Sony said the new model is positioned as the most premium offering in the 1000X lineup and is designed for users seeking high-end sound quality, comfort, and immersive listening experiences. Alongside the launch, the company also introduced a new Sandstone color option for the existing Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones.

Sony 1000X The Collection has been priced at $649.99 in the United States and CAD 849.99 in Canada, translating to roughly Rs. 63,000 and Rs. 59,800, respectively. The headphones are available starting May 2026 through Sony’s official stores, Amazon, and Best Buy. Buyers can choose between platinum and black color variants. The company has not yet announced India pricing or availability details for the anniversary edition. However, the launch highlights Sony’s continued focus on expanding its premium personal audio portfolio in global markets.

The newly launched headphones feature custom-built 30mm dynamic drivers equipped with a high-rigidity dome made from unidirectional carbon composite material and a soft-edge structure. According to Sony, the upgraded driver design improves vocal clarity, instrument separation, and high-frequency sound reproduction. The headphones also feature a closed-back acoustic design intended to deliver a more immersive listening experience while reducing external sound interference. Sony stated that the model has been specially tuned to provide enhanced detail and richer audio performance compared to earlier versions in the series.

One of the key highlights of the headphones is the inclusion of DSEE Ultimate technology, making it the first Sony model to use the company’s Edge AI-powered audio restoration system. The feature is designed to restore lost details in compressed music files in real time for improved sound quality. The headphones also support 360 Reality Audio Upmix and include dedicated listening modes for music, cinema, and gaming. Users can switch between these modes using a dedicated physical button. Sony has additionally included support for LDAC, LC3, SBC, and AAC audio codecs along with Bluetooth 6.0 and multipoint connectivity.

The Sony 1000X The Collection uses the same active noise cancellation system found in the WH-1000XM6 headphones. It includes 12 microphones and Adaptive NC Optimizer technology, which automatically adjusts noise cancellation levels based on surrounding environmental conditions. The headphones also support Ambient Sound Mode and Quick Attention features for better awareness of nearby sounds when needed. Sony claims the headphones offer a frequency response range of up to 40,000 Hz when used with LDAC and powered audio settings enabled, while wireless connectivity is supported up to a range of 10 meters.

Sony said the headphones can deliver up to 24 hours of battery life with active noise cancellation enabled and up to 32 hours with ANC turned off. The device also supports up to 20 hours of talk time depending on ANC usage. Weighing around 320 grams, the headphones feature metal accents, hand-polished finishes, vegan leather cushioning, concealed microphones, and redesigned earcups for improved comfort during extended listening sessions. Sony ships the headphones with a carrying case, a detachable audio cable, and accessibility-focused features, including tactile buttons and magnetic case closure for easier everyday use.
