Deepinder Goyal Reveals Six Colours for Temple Launch Edition

Pre-orders may open next week; shipping planned before 2026 ends.

Deepinder Goyal’s upcoming wearable Temple will launch in six colour options, with the Zomato founder indicating that pre-orders could open as early as next week. Goyal shared images of the launch colours on X and said the device would be available in True Gold, Rose Gold, Black Mirror, Real Jade, Deep Blue and Purple Funk. He also indicated that these colours are part of the launch edition, although it remains unclear whether the same options will continue after the initial release.

Goyal said Temple’s pre-orders could begin next week, while adding that he was waiting for certainty on a couple of remaining items. The wearable has attracted attention ahead of its expected launch, with Goyal previously indicating that a limited launch edition would begin shipping before the end of 2026. Early access applications have been open since May, with prospective buyers required to apply through Temple’s website.

Temple is designed differently from conventional smartwatches and smart rings. The small wearable is positioned on the temple, the area between the forehead and ear, which gives the device its name. Badminton player PV Sindhu has previously been seen wearing Temple during matches. According to the company, the device is designed to access signals that can be used to study cerebral blood flow, oxygenation and the body's response to different activities.

A key part of Temple’s pitch is its Brain Flow system, which Goyal has described as the first continuous wearable measurement of blood flow to the brain. The company says the technology is intended to track brain blood flow and explore its relationship with processes involving hormones, sleep, immunity and repair. Goyal has also shared research supporting Temple’s technology, including a study comparing its Brain Flow measurements with time-domain near-infrared spectroscopy, or TD-NIRS.

The research has not yet undergone peer review, and questions have been raised about the effectiveness of Temple’s approach to measuring such metrics. Goyal has continued to share research and information about the device as its launch approaches. The company’s focus on brain-related measurements sets Temple apart from conventional wearable devices that primarily track metrics such as heart rate, activity and sleep.

Temple’s pricing has not been confirmed. Goyal had previously indicated that the device could cost around $1,000, or roughly Rs 1 lakh, although the final price remains unclear. For now, the next major milestone is the opening of pre-orders, which Goyal said could happen next week if the remaining details are finalised.
