The boAt Airdopes ProClip enters India's growing open-ear earbuds market with a design-focused approach aimed at users who prioritise comfort, awareness of surroundings and long battery life over heavy bass performance. Priced under Rs. 2,000, the affordable wireless earbuds bring a clip-on design that moves away from traditional in-ear silicone tips. With brands increasingly experimenting with open-ear audio products, boAt's latest offering attempts to make the category more accessible to budget-conscious buyers.
Unlike conventional true wireless earbuds that create a seal inside the ear canal, the Airdopes ProClip uses a C-shaped bridge that rests around the outer ear. The design places the speaker module close to the ear canal while maintaining balance through the outer section of the clip. Each earbud weighs just 4.6 grams, making them comfortable for extended usage. The earbuds are available in Velvet Wine, Silk Grey and Satin White colour options, with the compact charging case featuring a Type-C port and LED indicator.
The earbuds come with a 12mm dynamic driver, Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity, multi-point pairing support and AI-powered Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) for improved call quality. The boAt Hearables app, available on both Android and iOS, provides users with access to battery information, touch-control customisation, equaliser settings and additional features. The earbuds also carry an IPX4 rating, offering basic protection against sweat and light splashes, making them suitable for workouts and daily travel.

In terms of audio performance, the Airdopes ProClip delivers clear mids and vocals, which remain its strongest area. Songs with detailed vocals and balanced arrangements sound pleasant, but the open-ear design limits bass output. Tracks that depend heavily on deep bass, including EDM, hip-hop and high-energy music, lack the impact typically found in sealed in-ear earbuds. The sound profile is more focused on comfort and awareness, making the earbuds better suited for casual listening rather than bass-heavy entertainment.
The open-ear structure provides a more natural listening experience by allowing users to remain aware of their surroundings while playing music. This makes the earbuds useful for commuting, outdoor activities and office environments. However, the same design means there is no active noise cancellation, and performance is best in quieter locations. Call quality is satisfactory, with ENC helping reduce background noise during conversations in moderately busy environments.
Battery performance is another highlight of the boAt Airdopes ProClip. The company claims up to 56 hours of total playback with the charging case and around eight hours from each earbud. During testing, the earbuds delivered close to seven hours of usage on a single charge, while quick charging provided additional playback time during short breaks. Overall, the Airdopes ProClip is a practical choice for users seeking affordable open-ear earbuds with comfort and reliable battery life. While it cannot match traditional earbuds in bass performance, it offers a balanced package for everyday listening, workouts and long-duration use.
