ICC confirms female-led commentary panel for Women's T20 World Cup 2026.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a star-studded commentary team for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which begins on June 12 in England and Wales. The tournament will feature a female-led broadcast panel comprising former World Cup winners, international captains, experienced broadcasters, and renowned cricket analysts who will provide coverage throughout the competition’s 33 matches, culminating in the final at Lord’s on July 5.

Leading the commentary team are several prominent figures from women’s cricket, including former World Cup winners Mel Jones and Julia Price of Australia, Stacy-Ann King of the West Indies, and England’s Isa Guha and Ebony Rainford-Brent. Their extensive experience at the highest level is expected to bring valuable insight and perspective to viewers following the tournament across the globe.

The panel also includes several well-known names from men’s cricket. Former Australia opener Matthew Hayden, former India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik, and former West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite will contribute expert analysis during the tournament. Joining them are respected broadcasters and commentators Nasser Hussain, Ian Bishop, and Ian Smith, who have become familiar voices in international cricket coverage over the years.

A number of former international captains and players will also feature in the broadcast team. These include former India captain Mithali Raj, Anjum Chopra, Veda Krishnamurthy, Pakistan’s Sana Mir, New Zealand’s Katey Martin, Ireland’s Isobel Joyce, England’s Tash Farrant, and New Zealand commentator Simon Doull. Their presence is expected to enhance coverage with player-focused insights and technical expertise.

Expressing her enthusiasm ahead of the tournament, Mel Jones described the event as a major milestone for women’s cricket and a reflection of the sport’s rapid growth worldwide. Mithali Raj highlighted the depth of talent among the competing teams, while former England captain Nasser Hussain noted that women’s cricket is enjoying unprecedented popularity and global attention, making the tournament a significant occasion for the sport.

The 10th edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will feature 12 teams competing across England and Wales. The tournament opens with hosts England taking on Sri Lanka at Edgbaston in Birmingham. With an expanded field, increased global interest, and a distinguished commentary team, the event is expected to showcase the continued rise of women’s cricket and provide fans with comprehensive coverage from some of the sport’s most respected voices.
