RCB Demolish Gujarat Giants by 61 Runs — Perfect 5-Win Streak Books Playoff Spot

Gautami Naik's 73 leads RCB to 178/6, before Sayali Satghare's three wickets restrict Gujarat Giants to 117/8 in a dominant 61-run win.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continued their dominant run in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 with a comprehensive 61-run victory over Gujarat Giants on Monday, sealing their place in the playoffs with five wins from five matches. The encounter was played at the BCA Stadium, where RCB delivered a complete all-round performance to remain unbeaten in the tournament.

Put in to bat, Smriti Mandhana-led RCB overcame early pressure to post a strong total of 178 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. Gautami Naik anchored the innings with a composed knock of 73 runs, holding the middle order together after the loss of early wickets. She found valuable support from Mandhana and Richa Ghosh, while late contributions from Radha Yadav and Shreyanka Patil ensured RCB crossed the 175-run mark on a surface that was not easy for batting.

In response, Gujarat Giants struggled to build momentum against a disciplined RCB bowling attack. Sayali Satghare struck early, claiming three wickets to dismantle the Giants’ top order and put them on the back foot inside the powerplay. Despite a fighting half-century from captain Ashleigh Gardner, Gujarat were unable to recover and finished on 117 for 8 at the end of their innings.

RCB’s bowlers maintained relentless pressure throughout, forcing false shots and capitalising on the dry conditions. The collective effort ensured that partnerships never flourished for Gujarat, marking one of the most convincing bowling displays of the season so far.

With this result, RCB not only extended their winning streak but also became the first team to officially qualify for the WPL 2026 playoffs. Gujarat Giants, meanwhile, suffered their third consecutive defeat and now face an uphill task in the remainder of the league stage as they look to revive their campaign.
