Vinicius Junior Signs Real Madrid Contract Extension Through 2032

Vinicius Junior extends his Real Madrid contract through June 2032.

Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior has agreed to extend his contract with Real Madrid until June 2032, the Spanish club announced on Thursday. The agreement secures the future of one of Madrid’s most influential players as the club prepares for the 2026-27 season under returning head coach José Mourinho.

The 26-year-old winger had entered the final year of his previous contract and was reportedly attracting interest from English Premier League champions Arsenal. Financial details of the new agreement were not disclosed. Announcing the extension, Real Madrid described Vinicius as one of the most important players in one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.

Vinicius joined Real Madrid at the age of 18 and has since scored 128 goals in 375 appearances across competitions. He has helped the Spanish giants win 14 trophies, including three La Liga championships and two UEFA Champions League titles. His pace, creativity and goalscoring ability have made him a central figure in the club’s attacking setup.

Reacting to the announcement, Vinicius celebrated his long association with the club in a post on Instagram. “Eight years at the Bernabeu are too few ... six more years, and forever!” he wrote. The extension signals Real Madrid’s determination to retain a key member of its squad as it seeks to return to the top of Spanish and European football.

Madrid will begin the new campaign with Mourinho back for a second spell as coach following a period of managerial changes. Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa both coached the team during the previous season. Despite having star striker Kylian Mbappe in their ranks, Madrid have not won a major trophy in two years and have finished behind rivals Barcelona in La Liga for two successive seasons.

The record 15-time European champions have also watched Paris Saint-Germain claim consecutive Champions League titles. Real Madrid continued reshaping their squad on Thursday by reaching an agreement with RB Leipzig for Ivory Coast international Yan Diomande. The 19-year-old forward has joined the Spanish club on a seven-year contract, adding another young attacking option ahead of the new season.
