Team India to Assemble in Dubai on Sept 4 for Asia Cup
India set for Asia Cup showdown in Dubai
The 15-member Indian squad, led by stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav, will assemble in Dubai on September 4 ahead of the Asia Cup 2025, starting September 9. In a shift from the usual routine, players will not gather in Mumbai before departure but will instead fly directly to Dubai from their respective locations. The move, according to a senior BCCI official, is aimed at easing travel and improving logistical efficiency.
“All players will be in Dubai by the evening of September 4, and the first training session is scheduled for September 5 at the ICC Academy,” the official said. “It made little sense to route everyone through Mumbai for such a short flight.”

India will open their campaign against hosts UAE on September 10, followed by a high-voltage clash with Pakistan on September 14. The group stage will wrap up with a match against Oman on September 19, before the Super Four stage begins.
Several players are still engaged in domestic red-ball cricket. Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana are currently representing North Zone in the Duleep Trophy quarterfinals against East Zone, while Kuldeep Yadav is turning out for Central Zone. Meanwhile, the BCCI clarified that standbys Prasidh Krishna and Washington Sundar will not be joining the squad as net bowlers in Dubai.
With the Asia Cup seen as a crucial build-up for future ICC events, India will be looking to find momentum early and test bench strength under new leadership.
