Siniakova, Verbeek Clinch Wimbledon Mixed Doubles Title
Czech-Dutch duo triumphs in thrilling tiebreakers.
Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic and Sem Verbeek of the Netherlands won the Wimbledon mixed doubles title, defeating Luisa Stefani and Joe Salisbury 7-6(3), 7-6(3) on Thursday.
The match, played on a vibrant Centre Court, saw Siniakova seal the victory with a decisive smash on the first match point. This marks Siniakova’s first Wimbledon mixed doubles title and Verbeek’s maiden Grand Slam triumph. The Dutchman celebrated by leading the crowd in singing "Happy Birthday" to his father.
Siniakova, a 10-time Grand Slam women’s doubles champion, also holds two Olympic golds: mixed doubles with Tomas Machac in Paris 2024 and women’s doubles with Barbora Krejcikova in Tokyo 2021. Seven of her major titles were with Krejcikova, two with Taylor Townsend, and one with Coco Gauff at the 2024 French Open.
