RR Teammate Reveals Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's "I Don't Give A Damn" IPL 2026 Mantra

Sooryavanshi reveals fearless don't give a damn mantra.

Rajasthan Royals’ teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has continued to dominate the IPL 2026 narrative, with fresh revelations from his teammates highlighting the fearless mindset behind his extraordinary batting performances this season.

The 15-year-old left the cricketing world stunned once again after his explosive 97 off 29 balls in the Eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad, an innings that included a relentless assault on some of the world’s most accomplished bowlers. His list of victims this season has featured top international names such as Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins, Mohammed Siraj, Josh Hazlewood, and Kagiso Rabada, underlining the scale of his impact in just his debut IPL campaign.

Rajasthan Royals wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel, who has closely observed Sooryavanshi’s rise, described the youngster’s approach as unusually fearless for his age. He said the teenager does not overthink match-ups or reputations and instead relies purely on instinct and preparation. Jurel noted that Sooryavanshi “backs himself completely” and steps onto the field without any hesitation, regardless of the bowler standing opposite him.

Jurel further explained that Sooryavanshi’s method breaks conventional coaching advice, where young players are typically instructed to focus on the ball rather than the bowler. Instead, he said the teenager has a singular focus on execution, with an attitude he summarized as “I don’t give a damn about any bowler,” reflecting his uncompromising confidence at the crease.

The approach was on full display during his innings against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he dismantled captain Pat Cummins’ plans with rapid adaptability. Attempts to bowl full on the leg stump, followed by short-pitched deliveries and slower balls, were all punished as Sooryavanshi adjusted instantly and maintained his aggressive intent, leaving the opposition with limited tactical options.

Sunrisers Hyderabad assistant coach James Franklin also acknowledged the challenge of containing the young batter, describing the margin for error against him as “very, very small.” He said the conditions and pitch further amplified the difficulty for bowlers, adding that Sooryavanshi’s ability to adapt mid-over quickly neutralised their strategies.

Franklin went on to describe the teenager’s emergence as “freakish,” suggesting that world cricket may not have previously seen a talent of his kind. He added that with potentially decades of cricket ahead of him, Sooryavanshi is only expected to grow stronger, more mature, and even more dominant as his career progresses.
