MS Dhoni Heads Home as CSK Faces Make-or-Break Match

Fresh questions over the IPL future of MS Dhoni have emerged after the former Chennai Super Kings captain returned to Ranchi ahead of the team’s crucial clash against Gujarat Titans on Thursday. Dhoni, who has been sidelined with a thumb injury, did not travel with the CSK squad to Ahmedabad.

The IPL 2026 season has turned into an unusual one for Chennai fans, as Dhoni has not featured in a single match so far. According to Hussey, the veteran cricketer is “recovering nicely” but is not fit enough for the Gujarat Titans fixture.
