Lamine Yamal Seen Holding Palestine Flag At Barcelona’s La Liga Trophy Parade

Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal drew attention after displaying a Palestine flag during the club’s title parade.

Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal drew attention during the club’s La Liga title celebrations after he was seen waving a Palestine flag while taking part in the team’s victory parade through the streets of Barcelona. The parade followed Barcelona’s confirmation of the Spanish league title after a decisive win over arch-rivals Real Madrid on Sunday, prompting thousands of supporters to gather across the city to celebrate the achievement.

The 18-year-old winger, regarded as one of the brightest young talents in world football, became a focal point of discussion on social media after videos and images from the parade circulated widely online. Support for Palestine has been visible in Barcelona in recent years, particularly since the outbreak of the Israel-Gaza conflict in October 2023. The Catalan capital has hosted numerous demonstrations and public gatherings expressing solidarity with Palestinians, making such displays during public events relatively familiar in the city.

Barcelona secured their 29th Spanish league title with three matches remaining in the season after defeating Real Madrid 2-0 at Camp Nou. The result capped another successful domestic campaign under head coach Hansi Flick, whose side maintained consistency throughout the season despite injuries and squad rotation challenges. The title also marked another disappointing campaign for Madrid, who are set to finish without a major trophy despite the arrival of French forward Kylian Mbappe.

Yamal has emerged as one of Barcelona’s most influential players this season and continues to attract comparisons with club legend Lionel Messi. Wearing the iconic No. 10 jersey previously associated with Messi, the teenager has played a central role in Barcelona’s attacking success. Despite missing several matches due to injury, Yamal finished among the club’s leading scorers with 16 league goals, level with teammate Ferran Torres, while also registering a league-leading 11 assists.

The young winger has also topped La Liga’s dribbling statistics, underlining his growing influence in European football. Analysts and supporters have praised not only his technical ability and creativity but also his confidence and competitive mentality at a remarkably young age. Barcelona relied heavily on Yamal’s contributions during periods when Brazilian forward Raphinha was sidelined through injury and veteran striker Robert Lewandowski saw his role reduced.

With Barcelona once again crowned champions and Yamal continuing his rapid rise, attention is expected to remain firmly on the teenager ahead of Spain’s upcoming international campaign. His performances this season have strengthened his reputation as one of football’s most promising stars, while his appearance during the title parade has also sparked wider discussion beyond the sport itself.
