Jhared Hack Grabs Halfway Lead at Players Championship 2026

Jhared Hack takes halfway lead at 13-under in DP World Players Championship 2026 after bogey-free 63.

American golfer Jhared Hack produced two consecutive bogey-free rounds to seize the halfway lead at the INR 1.5 crore DP World Players’ Championship 2026 at the Qutab Golf Course in New Delhi. Fresh from his victory at the PGTI season-opener in Naya Raipur, Hack followed up his opening 64 with a superb seven-under 63 on Wednesday. His two-day total of 13-under 127 lifted him from overnight tied third to outright leader.

The 36-year-old Las Vegas-based professional was particularly dominant on the back nine, where he carded five birdies, narrowly missing an eagle from 30 feet. Despite not feeling at his physical best during the round, Hack maintained composure and precision off the tee, a crucial factor on the tree-lined Qutab layout. He closed strongly with birdies on the eighth and ninth to cap another flawless day.

Speaking after his round, Hack credited patience and course management for his success. He emphasised the importance of accurate ball placement to create birdie opportunities on a demanding course. Admitting he felt slightly under the weather during the latter half of his round, Hack described it as a mental battle and said his focus now remains on controlling the aspects of the game within his command.

India’s Honey Baisoya stayed within striking distance at 12-under 128 after a second-round 65, maintaining his overnight second position. The seven-time PGTI winner mixed seven birdies with two bogeys and showed resilience by bouncing back from consecutive setbacks on the 14th and 15th holes. Crucial birdies on the 16th and 17th, aided by precise recovery shots and confident putting, underlined his strong form this season.

Jamal Hossain occupied third place at 11-under 129, while Tapendra Ghai, Dhruv Sheoran, Veer Ahlawat, and Amardeep Malik shared fourth at eight-under 132. The cut was set at one-over 141, with 56 professionals advancing to the money rounds. PGTI CEO Amandeep Johl highlighted the significance of “Cut Day,” noting that it tests consistency, patience, and adaptability—qualities essential for competing successfully on the international stage.
