Indian Tennis Prodigy Srishti Kiran Tops U-13 World Rankings, Achieves Historic No. 1 Spot
Srishti Kiran becomes world No. 1 in U-13 tennis rankings.
Bengaluru-based tennis player Srishti Kiran has achieved a major milestone by rising to World No. 1 in the Under-13 category, marking a significant breakthrough in her early sporting career. The 13-year-old attained the top position following a string of strong performances on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior circuit, where she consistently outperformed higher-ranked opponents and established herself as one of the most promising young talents in global junior tennis.
Her rise has been powered by an exceptional winning run, including five consecutive ITF junior titles across different international tournaments. These victories not only boosted her confidence but also helped her accumulate crucial ranking points in a short span of time. She further strengthened her position with a runner-up finish at the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors J100 event held in Guatemala, where she delivered a strong campaign against a competitive international field.
The results pushed Srishti to a career-high ITF junior ranking of No. 357 overall, making her the highest-ranked Under-13 player in the world. Her rapid progress has drawn attention within junior tennis circuits, especially given the consistency of her performances at an age where many players are still adapting to structured international competition. Coaches and observers have noted her ability to maintain composure under pressure and convert key points in tightly contested matches.

One of the most notable aspects of her achievement is the efficiency with which she climbed the rankings. Reports indicate that she achieved this feat after competing in only eight ranking events, which is two fewer than the maximum 10 tournaments considered for junior ranking calculations. This limited but highly effective participation highlights her strong conversion rate of appearances into ranking points and underscores the quality of her performances over quantity of tournaments.
Speaking to PTI, Srishti expressed happiness over reaching the World No. 1 position in her age group, stating that it was not something she initially expected at the start of the year. She credited her success to the consistent support of her coaches, family, and support team, emphasizing that their guidance and her disciplined training routine have played a crucial role in her progress on the international stage.
She also noted that the achievement reflects the hard work put in over time, both on and off the court, as she continues to balance training, competition, and development at a formative stage of her career. With her current trajectory, Srishti is now seen as one of India’s emerging prospects in junior tennis, and her performances are likely to be closely followed as she progresses into higher age categories and more competitive international tournaments.
