India sends 12 boxers, led by Lovlina Borgohain and Sachin Siwach, to compete for Boxam gold.

Twelve Indian boxers, including Olympic Bronze Medallist Lovlina Borgohain and World Championship Medallist Sachin Siwach, are set to compete at the prestigious Boxam International Tournament. The event, held in Castellón, Spain, is considered a key preparatory competition ahead of the 2026 Asian Games and other international championships.

Lovlina Borgohain, competing in the middleweight category, aims to continue her impressive run after securing a medal at the last major international event. Sachin Siwach, who has previously won accolades at the world level, will lead India’s light flyweight contingent, bringing both experience and expectations for gold.

The Indian team comprises a mix of seasoned athletes and emerging talent, with coaches emphasizing both performance and exposure. “Our focus is to give young boxers international experience while our senior boxers aim for podium finishes,” said a team official.

Officials noted that training camps in India have been intensive, focusing on technical finesse, fitness, and ring strategy. The Indian contingent is optimistic about its chances, particularly given the strong preparation and guidance from experienced coaching staff.

With medals on the line, all eyes will be on India’s leading boxers as they aim to maintain their international stature. The Boxam International Tournament offers not only a test of skill but also an opportunity to build momentum for India’s upcoming major sporting events.
