India A To Face Australia A In Two Four-Day Unofficial Tests In September

India A hosts Australia A for September unofficial Tests

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a packed international and developmental cricket calendar featuring India A men’s, women’s, and U-19 teams across multiple series against Australia A, England A, and Zimbabwe women, scheduled between September and December. The highlight of the schedule is the India A men’s series against Australia A, which will serve as a key preparatory contest in the longer format. The “shadow tour” will consist of two four-day unofficial Test matches and three one-day List A games, all set to be played in Puducherry. The series will run from September 22 to October 11, offering emerging players an opportunity to experience near-Test-level competition.

The first unofficial four-day Test is scheduled from September 22 to 25, followed by the second match from September 29 to October 2. The action will then shift to the shorter format with three 50-over matches on October 6, 9, and 11. These fixtures are expected to play a crucial role in evaluating India’s next line of red-ball and white-ball prospects against a strong Australian A side.

Alongside the men’s fixtures, the India U-19 team will also host Australia’s junior side in a structured developmental series. The tour includes three 50-over matches in Rajkot, followed by two four-day matches split between Rajkot and Ahmedabad. This series is scheduled from September 18 to October 5 and forms part of India’s long-term talent pipeline planning.

The women’s A team schedule is the most extensive, featuring back-to-back series against Australia A and England A. The Australia A women’s tour will take place in Mohali and Dharamsala between September 12 and October 2, including three T20s, three List A games, and a four-day match. The England A women’s series will follow later, running from November 30 to December 22 in Pune and Navi Mumbai with a similar multi-format structure.

Additionally, Zimbabwe’s women’s team will tour India for six white-ball matches between October 16 and 28, including three T20 Internationals in Raipur and three ODI-style List A matches in Baroda. The BCCI’s packed itinerary reflects a strong focus on player development across formats and age groups, ensuring consistent international exposure for emerging cricketers.
