The knockout phase has produced several tight encounters, upsets, and extra-time thrillers, setting the stage for an intense battle for the world title as the tournament progresses.

Colombia advanced to the Round of 16 after a narrow 1-0 victory over Ghana, earning a matchup against Switzerland in the next round. One of the standout fixtures of the previous round featured Cape Verde’s spirited performance against Argentina, where Lionel Messi scored once again, but the South American giants were pushed into extra time before eventually winning 3-2 to secure progression.

Other major results included Brazil defeating Japan 2-1, France overpowering Sweden 3-0, Spain cruising past Austria 3-0, and Portugal edging Croatia 2-1. Meanwhile, Paraguay stunned Germany in a penalty shootout, while Morocco eliminated the Netherlands on penalties in another high-pressure encounter.
