"Deal With It": Ramiz Raja Fires Back at Cameron Green's Chucking Accusation

Ramiz Raja advises Cameron Green to accept Usman Tariq's cleared bowling action.

A controversy erupted during the second T20 International between Pakistan and Australia after Australian all-rounder Cameron Green appeared to question the legality of Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq’s bowling action. The incident occurred when Green was dismissed by Tariq and walked back to the pavilion, where his gestures suggested he believed the bowler was “chucking,” reigniting a long-running debate around Tariq’s action.

The on-field reaction quickly drew attention, but no formal complaint has been lodged by the Australian team or match officials so far. Despite the visible frustration, the matter has remained limited to post-match discussion and commentary, without escalating into an official review process under the International Cricket Council’s protocols.

Former Pakistan captain and cricket commentator Ramiz Raja weighed in strongly on the issue, dismissing Green’s reaction as unnecessary. Speaking during the broadcast, Raja said the Australian batter should “deal with it” rather than question the bowler publicly, adding that such accusations reflected the wrong approach to handling on-field dismissals.

Usman Tariq, who has faced scrutiny over his bowling action in the past, has consistently maintained that his technique is legal. The spinner has previously explained that the natural structure of his elbow gives the impression of excessive bending. He has also stated that he has undergone multiple biomechanical tests at accredited laboratories in Pakistan, all of which cleared his action without requiring any modifications.

In earlier interviews, Tariq urged critics to better understand cricketing laws before making allegations. He said repeated accusations based on visual perception rather than scientific testing only spread misinformation and undermine players who have already been cleared through official processes.

While the debate continues among fans and former players, Tariq’s record shows that he has been investigated several times and cleared on every occasion. Unless an official complaint is raised, the matter is unlikely to move beyond discussion, with match officials and governing bodies relying on existing clearances to uphold the spinner’s eligibility.
