Cristiano Ronaldo Targets 1,000 Career Goals Before Retirement

Cristiano Ronaldo vows to reach 1,000 career goals before retiring.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal’s captain and football superstar, has set his sights on scoring 1,000 career goals before retiring, following his Best Middle East Player Award at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai. Currently, Ronaldo has scored 956 goals for club and country, making him Portugal’s all-time top scorer with 143 goals and Real Madrid’s highest scorer with 450.

The 40-year-old forward, who joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr in 2022, has already netted 112 goals in 125 appearances for the club. This season, he has scored 12 times in the Saudi Pro League, just behind compatriot Felix, demonstrating his continued impact on the pitch. Ronaldo also holds the unique record of scoring over 100 goals for four different clubs – Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Al-Nassr.

Speaking about his goals, Ronaldo said, “It’s hard to continue playing, but I am motivated. My passion is high, and I want to keep going. You know what my goal is – I want to win trophies and reach that number of 1,000 goals. I will reach it for sure, if no injuries.”

Last month, Ronaldo indicated that next year’s World Cup would be his last, hinting at retirement in “one or two years.” In October, he became the leading marksman in World Cup qualifying history, with 41 goals, further cementing his legendary status.

Despite approaching the twilight of his career, Ronaldo remains driven by records and silverware, balancing his ambition with remarkable consistency at Al-Nassr. His focus on both personal milestones and team success continues to inspire fans and younger players worldwide.

With a renewed two-year contract at Al-Nassr signed last July, Ronaldo’s journey toward 1,000 goals promises to be closely watched by football enthusiasts globally, as he continues to push the boundaries of his extraordinary career.
