Borussia Dortmund Beat Mainz 4-0 With Serhou Guirassy Brace and Julian Ryerson Four Assists

Borussia Dortmund delivered a commanding 4-0 victory over Mainz 05 on Friday, narrowing the gap to Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich to three points. The emphatic home win marked Dortmund’s biggest league triumph of the season and extended their impressive winning run.

Forward Serhou Guirassy led the charge with a first-half brace, while wing-back Julian Ryerson produced a standout performance by assisting all four goals. Ryerson’s accurate deliveries resulted in headed strikes from Guirassy, Maximilian Beier, and Ramy Bensebaini.

Dortmund opened the scoring after just 10 minutes when Guirassy powered in a header from Ryerson’s free kick. The hosts doubled their lead five minutes later as Beier converted another pinpoint cross. Just before the interval, Ryerson again found Guirassy from a corner to put Dortmund firmly in control at the break.

Mainz, who have improved under coach Urs Fischer after being bottom in December, struggled to cope with Dortmund’s aerial dominance. Despite losing only once in their previous nine league matches, the visitors failed to mount any meaningful resistance.

Bensebaini completed the scoring seven minutes from time with yet another header from a Ryerson corner. The victory continues Dortmund’s six-match winning streak and sets the stage for a crucial title showdown with Bayern in two weeks, while they next prepare to host Atalanta in the Champions League knockout round.
