Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Reacts After Riyan Parag Declines Photo Request During IPL 2026 Travel
Riyan Parag’s IPL 2026 remark leaves Vaibhav Sooryavanshi stunned.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was left momentarily speechless after Riyan Parag declined a photographer’s request to pose for a picture with the young Rajasthan Royals star ahead of their IPL 2026 Eliminator clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The incident took place as the Rajasthan Royals squad arrived in Mullanpur after travelling from Mumbai for the crucial knockout fixture.
As the players made their way through the airport area, photographers gathered around Sooryavanshi, who has emerged as one of the biggest attractions of IPL 2026. During the interaction, one photographer requested Parag to click a picture with the teenage batter. The Rajasthan Royals captain responded, “We aren’t film stars,” before walking away from the frame. Sooryavanshi reacted with a surprised and humorous facial expression, which quickly caught the attention of fans online.
Despite the brief exchange, there appears to be no strain in the relationship between the two cricketers. Parag has consistently backed Sooryavanshi throughout the season, while the youngster has often shown respect towards the captain and his family. Sooryavanshi was recently seen seeking blessings from Parag’s father, underlining the positive bond within the Rajasthan Royals camp.

The teenage sensation has enjoyed a remarkable IPL campaign, becoming the youngest player to score 500 runs in a single IPL season. Sooryavanshi finished the league phase with 583 runs in 14 matches, making him the fifth-highest run-scorer of the tournament so far. His fearless strokeplay and ability to dominate world-class bowling attacks have made him one of the standout performers of the season.
Sooryavanshi is also closing in on a major IPL record. He is currently six sixes away from equalling Chris Gayle’s record for the most sixes in a single IPL season and seven away from surpassing it. With Rajasthan Royals still alive in the playoffs, the youngster could get multiple opportunities to break the long-standing milestone if the team advances further in the tournament.
The young batter’s fearless approach has drawn comparisons with some of cricket’s greatest prodigies. Much like Sachin Tendulkar announcing himself against Abdul Qadir decades ago, Sooryavanshi has taken apart elite bowlers including Jasprit Bumrah, Josh Hazlewood, Kagiso Rabada and Mitchell Starc this season. Having already registered three fifties and a century, Sooryavanshi has now set his sights on achieving something unprecedented in T20 cricket — scoring the format’s first-ever double century.
