Pat Cummins Signs USD 12 Million Deal With Cricket Australia Amid IPL Mega-Contract Reports

Cricket Australia signs Pat Cummins to USD 12 million three-year contract amid IPL mega-offer reports.

Pat Cummins is reportedly set to receive a massive long-term contract from Cricket Australia worth nearly Rs 113 crore, according to multiple media reports. The proposed three-year agreement is aimed at securing the Australian captain’s availability for international cricket, especially Test matches, amid growing interest from franchise leagues around the world.

Reports suggest the deal is valued at around USD 12 million, with Pat expected to earn nearly USD 4 million annually. The development comes after claims that an IPL franchise had offered the fast bowler an AUD 10 million contract to step away from Australian cricket and focus exclusively on global T20 leagues.

Pat, currently representing Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League 2026 season, remains one of the most sought-after all-rounders in world cricket. Australian cricket officials are reportedly keen to ensure that elite multi-format players remain committed to national duty despite the growing financial pull of franchise competitions.

Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, Cricket Australia’s head of cricket, James Allsopp, acknowledged the increasing market pressure surrounding star players like Pat. He said experienced multi-format cricketers have earned the right to better long-term financial security due to their consistent performances and commercial value.

Allsopp also admitted that balancing international commitments with lucrative franchise opportunities has become increasingly challenging, particularly for players like Pat, Josh Hazlewood and Travis Head, who are in high demand across global tournaments.

Meanwhile, Pat continued his strong form in IPL 2026 by helping Sunrisers Hyderabad secure a 33-run victory over Punjab Kings. After the match, Pat praised his side’s clinical performance, especially their ability to defend a challenging total against one of the tournament’s top-ranked teams.
