Pat Cummins Expected To Join Sunrisers Hyderabad Squad After Fitness Test In Australia
Pat Cummins set to return to Sunrisers Hyderabad after fitness test, strengthening their IPL campaign.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are set to receive a major boost ahead of the ongoing IPL season, with regular captain and Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins expected to rejoin the squad shortly, according to reports. His return comes at a crucial time as the team looks to build momentum after an inconsistent start to their campaign.
SRH recently revived their season with a commanding 57-run victory over Rajasthan Royals on Monday, ending a poor run of form that saw them lose three of their first four matches. The win was powered by an impressive bowling performance from debutant pacers Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain, who picked up four wickets each to help restrict the opposition while defending a massive total of 217.
According to media reports, Cummins is scheduled to undergo a fitness test in Australia on Wednesday. If he clears the assessment and receives the necessary clearance from Cricket Australia, he could return to India and rejoin the SRH squad as early as April 17. Franchise sources have reportedly expressed optimism about his availability.

Cummins has been out of competitive action since the Ashes series against England and subsequently missed international assignments due to a back issue. He had travelled to India ahead of the IPL season but returned to Australia after experiencing discomfort, where he underwent medical scans and rehabilitation.
In his absence, SRH have been led by wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan, under whose leadership the team has won two of their first five matches and currently sits in the top half of the points table. Despite early struggles, the recent win over Rajasthan Royals has improved their net run rate and boosted confidence within the squad.
With Cummins’ potential return on the horizon, SRH will be hoping to strengthen their bowling attack and regain consistency as the tournament progresses, especially as they aim to maintain their position in the playoff race.
