Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali suffered a serious-looking head injury on Day 1 of the second Test against Bangladesh in Sylhet, briefly leaving the field on a stretcher before making a remarkable return later in the match.The incident occurred during the eighth over after Pakistan captain Shan Masood opted to bowl first. Hasan was struck by a freak moment of play when Bangladesh batter Tanzid Hasan Tamim drove the ball back towards him. Attempting to complete a return catch, the pacer dived forward but lost his balance and landed heavily on his head.
Medical staff and teammates rushed to the scene immediately as Hasan remained in visible discomfort. A stretcher was brought onto the field, and he was taken off for precautionary assessment, raising concerns within the Pakistan camp about a potentially serious injury.In a positive development for the visitors, Hasan Ali returned to the field in the 15th over, easing fears over the severity of the blow. He was later cleared to resume bowling from the 19th over, providing relief to the team management after what initially appeared to be a worrying setback.
On the cricketing front, Pakistan’s bowling attack managed to make early inroads into Bangladesh’s batting lineup. Mohammad Abbas was the standout performer in the morning session, picking up 2/22 as Bangladesh reached 101/3 at lunch on the opening day.Abbas struck early in the innings, dismissing Mahmudul Hasan for a duck on just the second ball of the match. Despite the early setback, Bangladesh recovered through Tanzid Hasan, who marked his Test debut with an aggressive counterattack, finding boundaries to stabilise the innings.

Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and veteran Mushfiqur Rahim then guided the team through the remainder of the session without further loss, with Shanto unbeaten on 26 and Rahim on 18 at the break. Their partnership helped Bangladesh regain composure after the early breakthrough.The match also saw team changes and returns of key players, including Pakistan batter Babar Azam, who rejoined the squad after recovering from a knee injury.
