KKR Reveals “Lines of Legacy” Jersey Ahead of IPL 2026 Season

KKR launches “Lines of Legacy” IPL 2026 jersey, weaving team’s iconic cricket moments into fan apparel.

Three-time Indian Premier League champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have unveiled their new jersey for IPL 2026, themed “Lines of Legacy,” which celebrates defining moments in the franchise’s history. The design incorporates pivotal events, from Brendon McCullum’s 158* in the inaugural 2008 match to Rinku Singh’s dramatic five sixes in the final over, forming the letters K-K-R in abstract linear art. The jersey allows fans to wear a visual representation of the team’s storied journey.

Speaking about the new design, Venky Mysore, CEO of Knight Riders Sports, said, “The Lines of Legacy captures the essence of KKR’s history and celebrates the journey of the team over the years. Each line represents a pivotal moment of brilliance, reflecting the energy and spirit that defines our identity. We are proud of this legacy and look forward to creating more memories for our fans this season.”

The jersey reveal was supported by a viral social media campaign, culminating in a film blending humour and pop culture. Binda Dey, CMO of Knight Riders Sports, explained, “Through our ‘Kya Line Hai?’ campaign featuring actor Rajat Bedi, comedian Anirban Dasgupta, and other creators from Kolkata, we brought the Lines of Legacy concept to life. By collaborating with local influencers, we invite fans to engage with the iconic moments that define KKR.”

KKR’s track record remains formidable, with four IPL final appearances and three championship victories in 2012, 2014, and 2024. The Knight Riders’ men’s team has also dominated the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), winning five titles in 11 years, including an unbeaten championship in 2020. Meanwhile, TKR Women won the inaugural Women’s CPL in 2022, marking the franchise’s expansion into women’s cricket.

The franchise continues to invest in talent development through the Knight Riders Academy, which scouts promising players from India and abroad. The academy aims to help cricketers enhance their skills and fitness year-round, ensuring a steady pipeline of talent to sustain the team’s legacy in domestic and international cricket.
