Kagiso Rabada’s “11 Years” Response Becomes IPL 2026 Bowling Masterclass Lesson

Rabada’s 11-year gap remark teaches IPL bowling lesson.

Gujarat Titans pacer Kagiso Rabada delivered a composed and clinical performance against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026 on Saturday, finishing with figures of 3 for 33 and helping his side secure a dominant 77-run victory. After the match, Rabada reflected on his brief on-field duel with teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, offering a measured response that highlighted experience and process over momentary setbacks.

Sooryavanshi, who has been one of the most explosive young batters of the season, struck two consecutive sixes off Rabada during his quickfire 36 off 16 balls, briefly putting the bowler under pressure. However, Rabada later dismissed the encounter as part of the natural rhythm of T20 cricket, emphasising consistency and preparation over isolated matchups.

Speaking after the game, Rabada said that his approach has remained unchanged throughout his career, stressing that long-term discipline and behind-the-scenes preparation are key to success at the highest level. He noted that while batters may win occasional battles, bowlers rely on sustained processes built over years of experience.

The South African pacer also highlighted the importance of analysis and planning when facing aggressive batters like Sooryavanshi, but insisted that execution ultimately defines outcomes. His remarks reflected a broader mindset of adapting without abandoning proven methods that have shaped his 11-year professional career.

Rabada’s performance was central to Rajasthan’s collapse, as they were bowled out for 152 while chasing a massive target of 230. Alongside him, Rashid Khan and Jason Holder played key roles in dismantling the batting lineup, with Gujarat’s bowling unit applying consistent pressure throughout the innings.

Earlier in the match, Gujarat had posted 229/4, powered by a strong batting display led by Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan. The win marked Gujarat Titans’ fourth consecutive victory of the season, taking them to second place on the points table and reinforcing their status as strong playoff contenders.
